High Expectations for Jordan’s 8th International Hospitality Forum

Preparations are well under way to hold the 8th International Hospitality Forum in which will take place from 30 October to 1 November at Amman Exhibitions Park. Events UnLimited (Jordan) and Hospitality Services (Lebanon) are gearing up to present the 8th edition of the International Hospitality Forum, which is a premiere trade show for the hospitality & foodservices industry of Jordan and the region.

Sponsored by Fine Solutions, Waves, Nabil Food Products, Nestle Professional and the USA Rice Federation among others, IHF will showcase a range of products including hotel and restaurant equipment and supplies, food & beverage, industrial kitchens, food processing equipment, furniture & furnishings, technology products, and many others.

IHF 2008 is expected to witness alliances among major companies aimed at obtaining a slice of the millions of dollars that are being invested in Jordan’s growing tourism industry.

The strength of IHF lies in the diversity of its activities and its interactive nature that brings together key tourism and hospitality stakeholders under one roof. IHF 2008 features several interesting components including:

  • An international trade exhibition of products and services needed for hotels, restaurants and other establishments.

  • Culinary Art Show.

  • A Table Setting Display running under a “Christmas Dinner” theme.

  • A Bartenders' Competition.

  • A Bed-Making Competition.

  • Seminars, workshops, press conferences and several other special events and award ceremonies.

The ever popular Culinary Art Show held at IHF has grown significantly to feature 16 different competitions in many fields of the culinary art. This year’s IHF will see an expanded programme of competitions in which over 100 Jordanian chefs from 3 to 5-star hotels, restaurants, clubs, patisseries and even hospitals will take part. The competitions will be judged by an outstanding panel of judges that IHF is hosting from around the world including, for the first time ever, three guest of honor chefs from the Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt and Le Meridien hotels.

Last year’s event drew over 3,500 trade visitors of whom 95% came from Jordan, while the others came from Syria, Lebanon, UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, Iraq and Palestine.
