Amman, May 2006. Following last year’s astounding success it is already time for the 6th International Hospitality Forum to take place in Jordan. Diaries need to be marked with a huge red circle from the 12 to 14 September 2006. This is not an event to be missed if you are at all interested in the latest trends and opportunities in the hospitality market in the Middle East. It is also a place to see and more importantly be seen. No amount of publicity can give you such focused coverage.
The annual International Hospitality Forum, the country’s premier event for the hospitality and foodservice sector, is building on its excellent track record to create a larger, more comprehensive event. It will showcase the latest in food and hospitality products, and feature several vibrant events that bring together all those concerned in developing the hospitality industry in Jordan and the region. The forum will be at Zara Expo, Amman, and is jointly organised by Events Unlimited of Jordan and Hospitality Services of Lebanon. It is worth noting that significant investments in tourism, hospitality and leisure projects are underway in Jordan. Over 5 billion dollars will be invested in the tourism and real estate sector over the next 5 years throughout the country.
“Major tourist developments are underway including investments of over $1 billion by Saraya Jordan in Aqaba and at the Dead Sea; $700 million by Ayla Oasis in Aqaba; in addition to various other major projects that will bring up the total of new hotel projects in Aqaba alone by over 15 properties,” said Samar Shawareb-Ashqar, managing director of Events Unlimited.
“The changing trends in eating habits in Jordan have led to a phenomenal increase in new restaurants, bakeries and cafés, particularly in the capital Amman. Some of Jordan’s new restaurant concepts are franchising their operations in other Arab countries, such as the UAE and Egypt. The International Hospitality Forum provides the industry with a great opportunity to learn about new products and technologies and interact with each other which helps upgrade the standards of the hospitality industry in Jordan,” said Mr. Zaid Goussous, president of the Jordan Restaurant Association.
The sixth edition of this 3-day event offers suppliers an excellent marketing tool to promote their latest products and services necessary to this expanding industry, as well as to network with professionals and decision makers from the region that has recorded spectacular growth in tourism activities.
The 2006 International Hospitality Forum will feature various events, including the ever popular Culinary Art Show that attracts over 100 Jordanian chefs to compete in 13 pastry, cooking and carving competitions; Jordan's 3rd Bartenders' Competition; a Table Setting Competition; a Design & Décor contest, in addition to a major conference, workshops and award ceremonies. Over 120 exhibitors are expected to take part in this event that is open to trade visitors and professionals only.
